The Music Ministry at Nativity is comprised of volunteer cantors, choirs, and instrumentalists whoim enhance our worship through music; we support the congregation in their full and active participation in the sung liturgy. We are always open to new members, no matter your experience or ability. Cantors: Cantors lead singing at Mass and other prayer services by proclaiming the psalm, leading the congregation in sung responses, and support the assembly idurning hymns and songs.
Parish Choir: The Nativity Parish Choir sings every Sunday at 9:30 am Mass, Holy Days, and other special occassions. We sing a diverse range of music in varying styles, both in unison and harmony. Practice for the Parish Choir is on Wednesdays at 7:15 PM.
Children's Choir: Open to school-aged children, the Children's Choir sings at various times of the year when announced.
Instrumentalists: Instrumentalists are welcome at any weekend mass as well as in our various ensembles.
Resurrection Choir: This choir sings for Funerals and Memorial Masses when they are scheduled. No specific practice is required except for meeting before each service to review music.
Phillip is a transplant to Orlando, coming from his native Buffalo, NY in spring of 2019. Being a church musician for over 20 years, Phillip has most recently served as Music Director for the new St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in the Lake Nona area of Orlando. Before moving to Orlando, he served as Music Director and Music Coordinator at several diverse parishes around the Buffalo area and served on the board for the Church Musicians Guild of Buffalo, the local chapter of The National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM). Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where his core concentrations were organ, piano, and voice. In his years of ministry, Phillip has created, reimagined, and grown music programs for several faith communities. With his contagious enthusiasm for music and faith, Phillip inspires energetic participation by everyone gathered for liturgy.
